Curation in progress by Belle Ling and Page Richards
SlyceLab invites all creators to submit a project for potential development at SlyceLab, a formative branch of 遊誌JOURNEYING, key to its past and futures.
At SlyceLab we join with creators in collaboration on interdisciplinary intersections to curate a work of art or text or multimedia platform.
We curate together to develop and stage a sensory and experiential environment, whether at 遊誌JOURNEYING, or at The HKU Guild, or right here in Hong Kong at The HKU Black Box.
Please look to our next issue of 遊誌JOURNEYING for full and exciting details of submission.
Already, if you may be interested in submitting a proposal please write to us at [email protected] and let us know.

條 Submit
We invite artists & writers from around the world, creating in multilingual & monolingual environments, to submit to 遊誌JOURNEYING across all platforms.
Locally, we often stage plays and events to produce your creative work as well as to publish it. Many of our published works have moved on stage and into documentary and film. Take a look at the HKU GUILD to find more!
Submission Guidelines
- We welcome poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, memoir and other life writing, travel writing, stage scenes, interviews, and multimedia creative works. If your creative work exceeds 400 MB, you may need to upload it to Dropbox or Google Drive and send us your link through Submittable.
- We normally commission interviews, but if you have a passion for a focused or specific interview, please write 150 words and let us know!
- At this stage, we accept works involving Chinese and English, with more languages to come. (Please note: we are not looking for works of translation.)
- 遊誌JOURNEYING accepts submissions year-round. Due to the large number of submissions, our response time for acceptances is approximately twelve to eighteen weeks. If you do not hear from us within this period, please consider sending us further works in the future.
- Please send your submissions online, through Submittable. Include a brief biography of around 100 words in the online submission.
- All submissions must be no more than ten pages and, for lyric no more than five poems, in ONE SINGLE document: typed, 1.5 spacing, paginated, in a standard or non-cursive font for ease of reading over hundreds of pages of submissions that we receive. Please include a separate cover page in the document with your name, address, phone, and email address.
- We do not accept work that has been previously published, including works published on your personal website, blog, or any social media pages, and we do not accept multiple submissions by a single author at any one time. Please send us only one active submission, within a single time frame, when our submission call is open.
- We accept simultaneous submissions. Please notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere. We are still very happy that your work has found a home!
- We appreciate art in various forms. Visual arts must be submitted in JPEG form. Audio and video productions will only be accepted in AVI, MOV, MP4 formats. Please do not upload more than 400 MB. If your production exceeds 400 MB, you may need to upload it to Dropbox or Google Drive and send us your link through Submittable.
- You are very welcome to send us proposals on production and/or curation on the following: visual art, video recordings, short films, music compositions, or any other multimedia art pieces, including multilingual and mixed media submissions. Please enclose a short brief introduction or synopsis, in the cover letter, on the proposed project.
