“Mundane”

I think I found this song back in December last year actually, but now with the Situation Room in mind, I experienced this song again in a different light somehow…?

To be honest, when I first heard it I didn’t really process the lyrics. I tend to listen for melody more than lyrics sometimes, as was the case with this song.

I realised recently how relevant the lyrics are to the home-stuck situation now, where the daily ins and outs have become rather… mundane, haha. –– As well, I quite enjoy the style/genre/sound/feel (???) of this song. I’m not sure how to explain it, but it makes me feel quite comfortable and happy, like home, but in an auditory/emotional sense.

Somebody save me from the mundane
I’ve been watching TV to entertain
Shut my tired eyes and forget my brain
Nothing to do
And I’ve been sinking into silence
Dwelling on my thoughts
And in this month
I haven’t felt that most conversations
Have left me anything but blue
But I just wanna be
Out of my head, out of my head
